Hilarious!!! Benjamin's Bible teacher showed him this at school. I thank God everyday for Mr. Gerke. He meets my kids where they are without any compromise.
that's the funniest thing i've seen in a LONG time.... thanks for posting....
i'm wondering... what was the context in which he showed it? just something funny, or was there something he was trying to teach out of it? i'd be interested in hearing...
He just showed it to them at lunch. Not a teachable moment...just hanging out with the kids. Mr. Gerke is actually a youth pastor working as a teacher to help make ends meet. So his approach to things is different than your typical teacher. He's fabulous.
"not a teachable moment...just hanging out with the kids."
perfect... i was hoping it wasn't "ruined" by a teachable moment... if you know what i mean!! :-)
i kinda put two and two together and figured as much as ms. liddell! she seems like a great person - i'm loving her blog. makes me want to visit TX all the more. we'll try again for the summer!! i would love to have a coffee with you two wild chicks...
Cara, I was going to post a story about Joey, but this week has been crazy....as we have been studying easter, the kids have been saying all kinds of things. One little boy in Joey's class had a notion that while Jesus might not be "dead" he was just perhaps idle in heaven. Joey looked straight at him and said, "Jesus is alive. Like, really alive."

Does it get any better than that?
Like, really alive....duh!
Love you gals....
We have such fantastic role models in the US, really. :-)
I wish my teachers would cut out the teachable moments and just show movies like that.
Do your kids go to a church school? (Um... what are they called? Parochial school, if that's more correct).
That Is The Most Funiest Thing In The Whole Entire World!!!!!
