buzz heads

OK. So some of you know that there was a lice outbreak at the kids' school and both boys were infected. That's how we spent our weekend--dealing with everything that goes along with that. Anyway, both boys decided it would be easier to buzz their heads than to go thru the tedious combing that you have to do after you use the treatment. Now you have to understand that my boys had BEAUTIFUL longish hair. They were both in tears and DID NOT want to cut it but felt it would be best. That brings me to Freddy. What an awesome man he is--and has an awesome head of hair himself. Beautiful salt and pepper--more salt than pepper ;)--edgy haircut, too. Well, this precious man I'm married to decided to support the team and buzz HIS hair to make the boys feel better. I actually wanted to buzz mine, too. How cool and easy would that be?!? Freddy told me to be quiet and never mention that again. Oh well. I think all my boys look pretty darn good!

They are handsome! Hope the worst is over.

My mom just got her head shaved because her hair is falling out from chemo...I mentioned doing it, and my husband didn't think it was a good idea, either.

By the way, you can also use 100% Tea Tree Oil to get rid of them (get it from a health food store or other natural/herbal place). Sit the kids in a bathtub, pour it on, and watch the little critters run like crazy - they hate it! Then wash with regular shampoo, and comb with a lice comb to make sure the nits are all gone.

As a preventative when it's going around at school, we use either Coconut shampoo & conditioner or Tea Tree Oil Shampoo and Conditioner. Suave makes coconut. Natural brands (healthfood store) make tea tree oil shampoo.

The buzz cuts look great - personally, I like short haircuts on me and my boys anyway.

OK. I just have to say that I have gone through a de-lousing with a friend. She has gorgeous long (down to her butt), thick hair. I spent hours - HOURS - combing through her hair. I think I was one of the two or three people she told when she was dealing with it. So that says something about our friendship. Glad you are free and clear.
